End Of Summer, Start Of Fall, My Time Of Year.

Although our summer here in Michigan was one of the greenest summers I can remember, I really can't complain much about the hot humid weather. I didn't miss it. You see I'm not a real warm weather person. That's why I love fall. But not only for the cooler weather, but the colors are incredible. Look at that photo above, wow!

And then you have the smell of burning leaves in the air.......oh and football. Don't know about our Lions this year anything has to be an improvement over last year 0-16!! But hey with a new quarterback and a new attitude, we'll see you never know.

OK back to why I love fall, oh yeah, then you have the apple cider mills opening soon, can't wait for that, cider and donuts, the warm cinnamon ones....oh my god I'm tasting them now. And also don't forget the caramel apples, another favorite.

I can remember we would take our two boys and a couple of their friends every year to the apple orchard to pick apples and get the cider and donuts. And then if there happened to be a Haunted House, they had to go in that. My wife was a big fan of the corn maze she really liked getting lost in those. Never understood the fun of that.... Boy those were good memories.

Now the boys are all grown up and we're waiting for at least one grand kid to come along...sometime. Then maybe Grandma and Grandpa can take the little one to the orchard.

But for now my wife and I take these little weekend trips not too far North of us we enjoy the colors and go and pick up her pumpkins and gourds and straw and corn stalks. Oh did I forget to mention, my wife besides Christmas is a real nut about Halloween. Holy cow she should of been married to "Lurch" from the Adams Family! This woman can decorate. We put out all of the above and then some. Not only outside but inside.........I'm getting too old for this!

What used to take us a couple days, now takes us at least a week or so. Then after Halloween, we leave most of the harvest things up and go into Thanksgiving.

Christmas time is a whole other blog, I'm not even getting into that yet.

So if you're one of the fortunate ones who has the opportunity to enjoy a fall season with all the colors etc. then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

You know I've enjoyed sharing my memories with you, I hope maybe it stirred up a few of your own. I think I'll end this hub for now, and just say GO LIONS..(pleease)..........and son get going on a baby will ya? Mom needs a decorating partner....(pleeease).
