Lion's Opening Day! 2009/2010.

Well today is opening day for the Detroit Lions football team.At age 59, you can only imagine how many opening day games I have witnessed. Only to be disappointed by another loosing season.

Last year had to be the worst ever, in fact it was, they set a NFL record 0-16. I figure you can only go up from there right? Let's hope so.

Why is it every year I put myself and my family through this for 16 games? Something inside me always saying, "this is it, maybe this year", or " maybe they'll make the playoffs this time". So disappointing, yet like a true Lions fan there I am, year after year in front of the T.V.watching them trying to at least make a lose exciting. Or maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment, who knows!

This is my birthday weekend, it sure would be a nice birthday present if the Lions at least won their opener. And with that one win under their belt, they can stand proud and say, " we at least improved over last year!"

Hey look at my college football team I follow faithfully, the Michigan Wolverines. They came off their worst season ever last year, 3-9 and look where they are now, 2-0!! I know, I know, it's still early, but hey let me enjoy for a little while will ya?

Well in closing I just hope that in my life time I get to see the Detroit Lions in the Super Bowl. Not even win the Super Bowl, just be in it..........does that take any of the pressure off guy's?

Ok, gotta go now kick-off is just a few minutes away, wish the Lions luck, heck wish me luck!
