Marijuana Found In State Parks! What The.......

Seems the Mexican cartels are invading our State and National Parks, and it isn't for medical purposes. The DEA reported on Friday they found 14,500 marijuana plants in a Colorado national park. All linked to the drug cartels.

Authorities say they have seen an increase in outdoor marijuana operations, run by the drug cartels. In the past few months agents (get this) have found more than $55 million worth of pot plants in Colorado, California and Idaho parks.

It seems that the cartels are doing a booming business. Obviously the cartels have the man power over the feds. Although $55 million puts a pretty good dent into their business. But looks like they are planting the pot plants as fast as the feds are pulling them out.

In June authorities found 2,250 plants from California Point Reyes National Seashore, and Golden Gate Park. And then in the same month hikers in Idaho found a site with 12,545 pot plants.

Agents are grateful for the hikers helping them out, and are employing hikers to help in finding and reporting these sites if they should come across them.

In the most recent find in Colorado, an estimated $5 million in plants were found in the rugged terrain of Pike National Park. DEA said it was the largest outdoor marijuana operation ever found in Colorado.

Authorities say migrant workers are being recruited to harvest the plants, some plants grew as high as 4-8 feet tall.

US Forest Services report that the damage to the land is becoming widespread due to the clearing, trash left behind and chemicals used to grow the crops (seeping) into the watershed.

It's also been said that one of the largest fires in Los Padres Park on Aug. 8th was set by traffickers and burned 88,000 acres Officials said the blaze was started by a "cooking fire in a marijuana trafficking operation." No arrests were made in that case.

DEA states that the national parks have become more popular now due to increased security at the borders, making it more difficult to smuggle large amounts of marijuana into the US.

.So now you have increased border security but more migrants being used to plant marijuana crops. What do you do? Feds can't keep up. I can see why they are depending on the public to lend a hand.

Maybe we the US should take over the crops and start charging taxes on it for medical use? Lord knows California could use the extra tax dollars! If you have the cartels that easily planting crops in the US, then our Parks are in trouble. How do you stop them? Maybe bring the boy's back from Iraq and Afghan, and put them in the fields? Then maybe just maybe the DEA would have a little more help.

Don't you think that with all our technology and drugs available, there isn't one pill out there or drug that could put you out of your pain rather than marijuana?
