My Review Of The Kodak 5260 Printer
By K Partin
The Kodak Esp 5250 AiO
I have been in the market for a new printer for a while now. Wanting to replace an HP2100 series all in one. Don't get me wrong the HP was a great printer while I had it, but the cost of the ink was killing me!
Being recently retired now, I'm going for the more economical items. That means sales, coupons, more cost effective, more energy efficient, buy one get one free! I think you know where I'm coming from right?
Normally I don't do many reviews of products, but I figured seeing as I bought this printer might as well share my thoughts on it.
First Thing You Notice
Size Of The Printer
I wasn't too concerned with the size of the printer, it's just about the same size as my HP. Although I don't have a huge desk, it fits pretty comfortably on it with no problems.
For those of you limited on desktop space you may want to put it on a small table next to you.
What I Really Like
What really caught my eye with this printer is the 2.4" LCD display. It lights up and is very easy to read. My HP display didn't light up and was a real pain to try and read at night. I would have to use a flash light to see it.
This display pops up for easy use and then lays flat if you want.
The control panel on top is very user friendly and easy to read.
It has a memory card slot so you can print with or without a computer. It supports a variety of cards.
What It Comes With
This printer comes with everything you need to get started except a USB cable. It's a standard 2.0 cable and I was lucky my cable from the HP worked fine. Also you'll need some paper. They do give you a sample packet of 4x6 photo paper and enough ink to last you awhile.
The ease of setting this printer up was incredible, Kodak thought of everything as far as set up. You can go to their web-site they provide, and watch a video of exactly how to unpack it, and set it up.
It is as I mentioned an AiO (all in one) printer. It will print, copy and scan. If you're in the market for one that faxes they have that too, in the Kodak ESP 9.
It prints pretty fast too, 4x6 photos in 29 seconds and documents up to 30 pages per minute in black and 29 pages per minute in color. The photo printing is amazing, the color is beautiful and no smudges.
This printer will work with Windows 7, Vista, or XP-Home, (SP2 or above). Also with Macintosh 10.408 or higher.
An Overview Of The Kodak 5250
In closing I will admit this is not a real in depth review, but I think I got across the most important features about it. Hopefully it will help you make a decision on your next printer.
I have been using this printer for about 2 weeks now and can tell you I am very pleased with the functionality of it. Like I said easy setup, user friendly, and for the price, it's very economical and fits my budget.
I paid $ 120.00 for mine and I bought a twin pack of ink for like $ 22.00 which is more than half what I paid for with the HP. I'm sure if you really look around you can find even better deals on ink and the printer it self.
It also comes with the energy star rating.
All in all I am very happy with it. Just in the savings in ink alone. Kodak goes back a long way they have a very good reputation and that went far in my decision making too.
Oh and one more thing Kodak is there to help, they provide a 24/7 chat on line assistance or a 24/7 toll free help line for any questions you might have.
I hope you refer to this article when it's time for you to purchase a printer and keep Kodak in mind.
Please watch the short video below in case I missed anything. And happy printing!

I've had HP and last yr bought a Lexmark scanner at Target for about $40. What a joke! They have more than made up the money in the cost of their ink! I've looked at these Kodaks and am very interested in them. Wd. also like to find a used HP laserjet for my writing. Great hub and Happy New Year to all of us on HubPages!
Happy New Year to you too Dink. Thanks for the comment. I think you would like the Kodak. K.
Have a WONDERFUL trip! Sedona is breathtaking, so you'll be amazed. Be sure to drive through Oak Creek Canyon. Tucson is a much more interesting city (to me) than Phoenix. Happy Trails!!

Hi Tina, hope you're doing well. I know price of ink is a killer. Thats the main reason I switched. With the link above I can even save more on ink. Check it our. TC K.
Nice review. I am thinking of replacing my current printer as it's a real ink drinking machine.
Hey bat how you doing? So far so good with this printer I love it and ink is CHEAP! Thanks K.
Hi K Partin, the Kodak sounds like a great Printer. You are right about the cost of ink. I don't know about over where your are but we have plenty of 'generic' brands of ink which are much cheaper. I have also stopped printing in 'color'. Any color printer I need I take down to the 'pros'
Great review.
agulpes, thanks for stopping mate! I love the Kodak printer, I have the option of print black or white saves on color. Thanks Kerry

This is great.
Ink costs an arm and a leg, and there's really no reason for it, other than extreme profits.
I need to save everywhere I can!
