Restore The Roar! Lions Finally Win!!
43
I couldn't pass up a quick hub about the Detroit Lions. I'm just sorry I'm 2 days late!
But I can justify that, as I just returned from taking the family up to Northern Michigan for a little R&R, but talk about going stir crazy! No internet, barely had TV (like 4 channels), and texting on my cell phone was sometimes blank! You talk about a real dead zone......man I could not live like that! Am I spoiled??
Well anyway I'm back and the sad part is my Lions win and I couldn't even see it, not to mention it was blacked out any way!
But hey the important thing is they WON!! After a 19 game losing streak it finally ended on Sunday September 27, 2009......wow the monkey is finally (I hope) off our backs. As William Ford the Lions owner put it in the locker room after the game, "King Kong is off our backs"
That losing streak is equal to the second longest in league history, no more talk of that anymore.
It was totally a team effort (and maybe a little help from Jim Zorn the Redskins coach), but hey a win is a win and we'll take it!
So now let's build from this, let's enjoy this win but move on to the next victory. Which I hope will be next Sunday October 4, 2009, when we go to the "Windy City" Chicago to take on the Bears! Good Luck and GO LIONS!!

Here's something that should make you feel better about your Lions: My Browns! They're such a mess... :(
I'm sure all NFL fans will be glued to their TVs on Sunday when the Browns visit the Silverdome for a battle of titans...or something.
Oh well...Go Brownies anyway! (And GO BUCKS!)
Love your hubs!
(Does that sound dirty?)
Yay, I watched it when the Lions won after two years, Go LIONS, am a fan of Steelers though, but I am rooting for LIONS because I want them to win too~!
Well what a game it was against the Browns huh? One of the best I hear tell. I quit all football the day before Modell quit Cleveland and took our Browns with him. I quit all sports that day. Nuff said.
Well, I got tired of the Browns letting me down so much and then when that season ended I was really ticked along with what Mayor White did, so I walked away from it after all those years. I catch a game every now and again with some friends, but no rooting from me, and never Cleveland sports, never liked basketball. Oops. almost forgot, I was a big boxing fan until Larry Holmes retired too.
I know this is a before the season Hub. I still want to comment on the Lions. I have laughed at them as an organization for years. Every year all the Lions fans say this is the year, and every year I laugh. However even though this season is one more lost season. I think Lions fans can finally say they can't wait till next year. With Matt Millen gone, they have drafted better. There coach seems to have a clear plan in place. there young players really look good. Anyway that's just what I think. Have a great New Year.
K,
You're sick of hearing; wait till next year. Try being a Cub fan. Best line ever by a sports caster. Talk about the next year syndrum, Harry said; "any team can have a bad century."
Will the Lions be better than the Bears the next few years. The Bears have no first or second round pick the next two years.
K,
If we both such; what does it matter?
K,
The Bears signed 3 free agents today, beware!
K, That division seems to always be up for grabs. You can pick just about anyone.
K,
and that is how it will remain.

Well done!!! I had a feeling they were going to break their duck soon, and Washington seemed one of the likely ones they'd do it agains!
